XEROCON MELBOURNE 2017 – WHAT’S ON THE HORIZON FOR XERO?
Liston Landers Bsuiness Services Mangaer, Stewart Lane recently attended the Annual Xerocon Seminar, which outlines the year gone by for the Xero software team as well as mapping out the short and term future of where they see their software headed. In this blog he shares his learnings and key findings from the seminar.
Xero’s CEO Rod Dury, made special mention that he expects the innovation and efficiencies created in the software over the next two to three years to rival that of what has been achieved in the past 10 years. Xero, even though they are ahead of the game are still investing double the money in Research and Development compared to rivals such as MYOB. Below are some of the new and upcoming features that may interest you.
Xero has released an advanced job tracking system called Xero Projects that allows you to allocate employees time, expenses, tasks and make progress invoices on projects your business conducts to tracks its profitability. This new software will be free until the end of the year and then will be charged on a per user basis from then on. Please contact your client account manager if you would like access to this new feature to trial until the end of the year.
If you have employees that lodge expense claims with your business you will be happy to hear that Xero has updated its expense claims feature. This will allow employees to take photos on their smart phone to upload their receipts to reimbursed along with a host of other features that are designed to streamline the whole process.
Auto Super Updates
Enhancements to the Auto Super function are coming which will allow failed payments to be repaid with a click of a button once the employees details have been corrected. This should help save a lot of time when dealing with failed payments.
Attending this Seminar has only strengthened our belief that the Xero bookkeeping/accounting software is by far the best solution our there for small to medium businesses.
